Konami bekrefter den årlige utgivelsesplanen for Silent Hill
Konami is planning an annual release schedule for the Silent Hill franchise, with new entries expected each year. The strategy follows the 2024 release of the Silent Hill 2 remake and the 2025 debut of Silent Hill f.
Series producer Motoi Okamoto indicated the plan in a New Year’s interview with Famitsu, noting that the company intends to sustain consistent franchise visibility.
Silent Hill: Townfall is slated as the next major release. A French fan site reported March 26, 2026, as the tentative launch date, which aligns with Konami’s annual timeline. British studio Screen Burn is developing Townfall, while Bloober Team continues work on the Silent Hill 2 remake and NeoBards handles updates for Silent Hill f. Okamoto confirmed that additional unannounced projects are also in development, potentially filling gaps between major releases.
“Konami is not entirely sure if it will be able to achieve this ambitious goal of releasing a Silent Hill game every year, but the company wants to keep the buzz around Silent Hill constant,” Okamoto said. — Motoi Okamoto
The strategy marks a shift from prior release patterns, which have varied widely in timing and studio involvement. Silent Hill 2’s remake received praise from both veteran players and new audiences, while Silent Hill f gained recognition across horror gaming communities and earned awards for design and atmosphere. These successes provide a foundation for Konami’s push to expand the series’ output and maintain audience engagement.
The company is leveraging multiple development partners to support the schedule. Bloober Team leads the remakes, NeoBards maintains ongoing updates, and Screen Burn develops original titles. This distributed approach aims to prevent delays and preserve quality, though fans remain cautious. Some have drawn comparisons to Ubisoft’s 2009–2015 Assassin’s Creed cycle, where annual releases occasionally suffered from technical issues and uneven reception. Konami will need to balance speed with polish to avoid similar pitfalls.

Future releases beyond Townfall are expected to include Bloober Team’s Silent Hill remake and other unannounced titles. The specifics of these projects remain scarce, but the framework suggests that major releases will alternate with smaller entries, potentially mirroring earlier experiments like Silent Hill: The Short Message. Okamoto emphasized that maintaining consistent visibility is a priority, suggesting smaller-scale games could support the annual schedule while larger projects develop.
Fan anticipation is growing, and the confirmation of Townfall’s potential release date has energized the community. Konami’s multi-studio approach could allow the franchise to sustain a yearly rhythm without compromising development timelines. The company has committed to balancing ambitious output with careful oversight, but execution will determine the effectiveness of the plan.
The renewed focus on Silent Hill has coincided with a surge in community activity, particularly following the success of Silent Hill f. Social media engagement, including fan art, memes, livestreams, and theory discussions, has amplified the franchise’s global reach. This heightened visibility has created measurable momentum, with significant spikes in interest observed in Japan and internationally.
