• 2022 – A massive leak in September: over 90 videos from an early version of the game confirmed two main characters and a Vice City setting.

In the summer of 2022, Jason Schreier published a report on Bloomberg stating that after the events of 2020, including the killing of George Floyd by a police officer, Rockstar underwent a transformation aimed at reducing offensive humor and the marginalization of various minorities. The report also touched on the development of the new GTA.

Fans noticed the similarity between her voice and appearance with the character, as well as her previous roles in shows like Law & Order. In a DJ Echo interview (2021), Perez mentioned working on a major project without revealing details due to an NDA.

On December 12, 2024, Strauss Zelnick, the Take-Two CEO gave an interview to Corner Mather in which he described GTA 6 in a few words.

Players saw too much and in a rough form. So, instead of trying to guess what will intrigue the players, developers stay silent, and it’s working. This silence is a long-term strategy.
