Todd Howard erter til Fallout-overraskelser som aldri er sett i spillene

Bethesda Game Studios director and executive producer Todd Howard has shared new details about the future of the Fallout franchise, teasing that fans will soon experience parts of the post-apocalyptic universe that have never been explored before.

The comments come as Bethesda continues work on multiple major projects and as Microsoft reportedly plans to invest more heavily in flagship franchises such as Fallout and The Elder Scrolls.

Todd Howard Teases New Fallout Locations

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Howard discussed the upcoming third season of the Fallout TV series and hinted that it will expand the franchise beyond familiar territory.

According to Howard, one of Fallout's greatest strengths has always been its unique interpretation of America, and the next chapter aims to introduce locations and ideas that have never appeared in the games.

"One of the things that we all love about Fallout is the geography of the world and being able to show some new things in the Fallout world that I think will surprise people, that they've never seen before in the games."

Season 2 previously teased a journey to Colorado, suggesting that Season 3 will explore an entirely new region of the Fallout universe.

New TV Content Could Shape Fallout 5

Howard's comments have also fueled speculation about Fallout 5.

The Bethesda executive has previously confirmed that the next mainline Fallout game will take place after the events of the television series, meaning any new locations, factions, or storylines introduced in the show could become part of the game's canon.

That connection gives the TV adaptation an increasingly important role in shaping the future of the franchise.

Fallout 5 Still a Long Way Off

Despite excitement surrounding Fallout's future, players should not expect Fallout 5 anytime soon.

Howard previously revealed that the majority of Bethesda Game Studios is currently focused on developing The Elder Scrolls 6, describing it as the studio's highest priority and emphasizing the importance of delivering the game at the expected quality level.

While Microsoft is reportedly increasing investment in its biggest franchises under new Xbox leadership, there is still no indication that Fallout 5's development timeline has significantly changed.

Remakes Could Fill the Gap

Until Fallout 5 eventually arrives, longtime fans may have other reasons to return to the wasteland.

Rumors surrounding potential remakes of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas continue to circulate within the community, although neither project has been officially announced by Bethesda.

If the reports prove accurate, those remakes could help bridge the lengthy wait for the next mainline Fallout adventure.
