As is well known, the upcoming adaptation of the Far Cry game franchise, set to be released as a series on FX and developed by Noah Hawley (Alien: Earth), will not be connected to the events of the video games. Instead, we will experience a familiar storytelling format featuring original stories set in diverse settings, divided across seasons.

Although the details of the upcoming first season of Far Cry remain unknown for now, the cast has gained its first star. That is Lizzy Caplan, known for her roles in projects like Showtime's Masters of Sex and Fleishman Is in Trouble. She has joined Rob Mac, who will also serve as one of the show's executive producers.

The cast just got a lot more dangerous.

Despite producer Noah Hawley's confidence in the direction the Far Cry series adaptation is taking, not only fans of the games but also Alex Hutchinson, the creative director of the fourth installment, have previously criticized Hawley's approach to developing the adaptation. Nevertheless, it's best to reserve judgment and wait for the series to be released before evaluating the work of the specialist.

As for the new game in the Far Cry universe, it is believed that Ubisoft is actively working on the seventh installment, which is set in Alaska. According to insiders, the development has been somewhat rocky, to say the least, but the release is tentatively scheduled for 2028. An official announcement for Far Cry 7 could potentially happen later this year.
