This week saw the release of one of the biggest games of the year—and undoubtedly the most anticipated racing game of the year—Forza Horizon 6 from Playground Games. As expected, the game has deservedly received high praise from both players and the press and, according to new research, has already shown solid financial results.

As reported by Alinea Analytics, Forza Horizon 6 has already sold 4.9 million copies across all platforms (PC, Xbox Series X/S), even though it has only been a few days since its release—an excellent achievement for Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios. The game is reported to have already generated approximately $325 million in revenue, with early access for all Premium Edition subscribers playing a significant role in this success. Additionally, around 3 million players chose to play the game via their Game Pass subscription rather than purchasing it outright—but this did not prevent the game from achieving impressive results. At this time, there has been no official confirmation that the game has sold 5 million copies, but given its rapid growth, it is likely only a matter of days, if not hours.

The developers previously confirmed that 6 million people have played Forza Horizon 6 so far this week, and the current peak number of online players on Steam stands at 298,985 —more than 20,000 higher than it was the day after the game’s release. Game critics also gave Forza Horizon 6 the highest scores, and Metacritic awarded the game the 'Must-Play' award; by the way, the game is also the highest-rated title of 2026 at the moment.
