Mørke omgivelser, nye helter og utgivelse i 2029: Detaljer om Resident Evil 10: New Dawn avslørt

Apart from story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, which is confirmed, Capcom is reportedly working on the remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica; it’s been repeatedly mentioned that the upcoming project could be the biggest Resident Evil remake title so far, as well as being the studio’s top priority at the moment. Moreover, the official announcement is very likely to happen next month, during Summer Game Fest (June 5-8).

However, there is another game that is currently in development at Capcom—it's Resident Evil 10. According to game series insider Duck Golem, the studio has been working on the project since 2021, and another scooper, Marcox, recently revealed the game’s first details. On his X social media, he shared more information about the upcoming tenth installment; the game is now codenamed New Dark, it will feature a dark setting, introduce brand-new characters, and is rumored to release in 2029 for PC and consoles, as you can check out below:

"New Dawn" is believed to be the working codename for the upcoming Resident Evil 10 project. The game will take the series to a completely dark setting, introducing entirely new heroes who have never faced bioterrorism before, with a target release window in 2029 to serve as a cross-gen title.

It was Marcox who was the first to reveal the initial plot and gameplay details for Resident Evil 10, namely:

• Game will feature a new protagonist named Talia, who is the survivor of a biological incident in a modern-day European city.
• Resident Evil 10 will be the “most terrifying” title in the franchise, having less attention to action scenes and more focus on the feeling of “helplessness” in the face of enormous monsters that are difficult to kill with ordinary bullets.
• Alex Mercer from Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be the main villain. Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Jill Valentine will all return to fight against her.
• Upcoming tenth title will also reveal a lot more information about The Connections - a secret international organization dedicated to the development and sale of biological weapons.

At this point, Capcom has not made any official announcements regarding Resident Evil 10, so all of the above information should be treated as a rumor. As for story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, according to the leaker, who previously predicted the plot of the main game, the game will feature two story expansions – one dedicated to Leon S. Kennedy and Alyssa Ashcroft, and the second to Chris Redfield and Ada Wong.
