Fans krever utgivelsen av Destiny 3: Over 170 000 mennesker har signert underskriftskampanjen

Last week, Bungie announced that the studio will not release furhter updates for Destiny 2 —an online shooter released in 2017 that brought the studio immense popularity and became a massive financial success for Sony. However, the game’s servers will remain online, and the studio will focus on other projects.

What’s more, according to a new Forbes report, some Bungie employees were unaware that the developers planned to discontinue support for the game; this decision was reportedly made in early 2026 but kept under wraps. Don McGowan, Bungie’s former head of legal, also commented on the incident, stating that following the deal with Sony, Bungie had become “a publishing imprint” and that he regretted not having done more to prevent it.

Speaking of the abovementioned Destiny 3, fans are disappointed that the game is not currently in development and have even launched an online petition on Change.org, which is gaining significant traction. So far, more than 170,000 people have signed it, and the number of signatures is growing by the minute.

However, as Jason Schreier has confirmed, Bungie is not currently working on Destiny 3 because the company lacks the necessary funding for the game. Meanwhile, amid the controversy surrounding Destiny 2, Steam users have flooded Bungie’s new game, Marathon, with negative reviews. Many of them blame the game for causing the discontinuation of Destiny 2 and the absence of a third installment.
