Pearl Abyss fremskynder spillutviklingen med DokeV som skal lanseres tidligere enn forventet

This year, Pearl Abyss, the studio that is mostly known as Black Desert Online developers, released their debut single-player action-adventure title—Crimson Desert. While it didn't happen overnight, nearly two months after its launch, the game successfully found its audience and went on to become one of the biggest releases of 2026 so far.

Moreover, the developing studio outperformed themselves to such an extent that all the content intended for Crimson Desert over three months was implemented in just three weeks, significantly improving the game. Moreover, thanks to the numerous patches the studio releases regularly—and sometimes frequently—player feedback has turned positive, and sales have notably boosted Pearl Abyss's revenue.

Recently, Pearl Abyss released a new financial report that confirms the developers’ ongoing momentum, suggesting that their next project— DokeV, first announced in 2019—could arrive sooner than anticipated. The title centers on Dokebi, legendary creatures from Korean folklore, as they traverse a vast, immersive open world. It is indicated that the studio plans to reallocate resources to accelerate the game's development cycle. Their production roadmap is incredibly ambitious, with the studio aiming to launch new titles on a biennial or triennial basis.

Moreover, the studio is also working on another confirmed video game, an MMO shooter, Plan 8; however, it is now in the concept stage and still at the early stage of development. The success of Crimson Desert has been tremendous for the company, and the studio will continue to support the game with new content; future DLC releases are also a distinct possibility. This week, the game also received a new update— Patch Notes Version 1.07.00 —where more bosses were added to be challenged in the rematches, new mounts, and more.
