Remedy Confirmed Control Resonant inneholder noen RPG-elementer og regnes som et action-RPG-spill
Control Resonant, developed by Remedy Entertainment, is surely one of the most anticipated titles of 2026, not only because it’s the long-awaited continuation story of the original game but also because it is the studio’s biggest title so far.
The game is confirmed to be using the upgraded version of Northlight Engine, and will be set in Manhattan, where the reality is always changing, and it follows Dylan Faden, the brother of Jesse from Control (2019) who is looking for her.
Recently, the game’s creative director Mikael Kasurinen spoke to GamesRadar+, where he revealed that Control franchise is actually considered as an RPG franchise to Remedy Entertainment, and it was planned even before the idea of the original game was born. With Control Resonant, the developers are finally going to to implement everything that was originally intended - and this could become the culmination of their ideas in terms of quality. You can check out Kasurinen’s words below:
"When I was thinking about Control, and it wasn't called Control or anything like that, but I had this kind of thinking in my head that I wanted to create an RPG franchise. How do I get there?' The question was, 'what would it be? What's the Remedy version of that?' The way to learn is to start by doing, and that's how Control was born.
It was the first time we ever did that. There was a main story, but there's also these other stories as well. You had side quests. We'd never done that before. We'd never done dialog choices before, where you talk to a character you can choose what to say. All that stuff was new... My intent was, 'I want to find out what is the Remedy version of an RPG experience.' That's what Control was.
With Resonant, I wanted to stop calling it action adventure. Instead, like, no, it's an action RPG. This is Remedy's RPG franchise, and we're gonna kind of embrace that, fully commit to it, and so on, and go even further into that direction.”
During the latest financial earnings report, Remedy confirmed that the original Control video game sold 6 million copies, as well as that the sequel is still being eyed for release in 2026. Moreover, the upcoming Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes are now in full production, as well as the studio working on a new title, which is now at the stage of concept looking.
