Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis lanserer et Nier Automata-samarbeid
Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis will introduce a new collaboration on November 27, folding NieR: Automata into the game’s next time-limited event. The mobile and PC title has leaned on steady crossover activity to keep its content loop moving, and the NieR partnership fits that pattern with themed cosmetics, a special quest, and a familiar antagonist from Yoko Taro’s world.
The event gives Yuffie and Tifa new outfits based on YoRHa uniforms, paired with weapons designed to match Automata’s industrial style. Ever Crisis has turned these cosmetic drops into a regular cadence, offering players a clear path to rewards through daily activity. The collaboration’s main quest, which goes live at 5:00 PDT on November 27, places 2B in a central role. She appears as the boss in a mission titled “YoRHa No. 2 Type B Intercept: Encounter in the City Ruins,” lifting imagery and framing from Automata and reworking it for the game’s turn-based structure.
The update layers in several bonuses that follow the same pattern as earlier events. Daily free draws return. A login campaign adds up to 3,000 Blue Crystals over its duration. A crossover draw gives another route into the new gear pool, while a panel of event missions offers extra items for players who clear each objective. Completing that panel unlocks a new Enemy Ability modeled on one of 2B’s attacks, giving more experienced players another incentive to run the encounter.
NieR has become one of Square Enix’s most traveled properties, turning up regularly in other games for more than a decade. Collaborations have ranged from Monster Hunter and Gravity Rush to Phantasy Star and Rainbow Six Siege. Within the publisher’s own catalogue, 2B has already appeared in Brave Exvius and Final Fantasy XIV, while the series’ music has crossed into Theatrhythm. These cameos have kept the brand active even as fans continue asking for news of a proper follow-up.
The tone around those requests has grown sharper, especially with another collaboration arriving in place of a new installment. One Reddit user captured the mood by noting that Square Enix “will do anything with NieR other than making a new NieR game.” The sentiment reflects a long-running tension: a well-liked series that remains in circulation through crossovers instead of forward development.
A recent interview offered a partial explanation. Speaking to 4gamer in comments later surfaced by Rock Paper Shotgun, creator Yoko Taro addressed claims that he has stepped away from major work. He said he has been involved in multiple projects that never reached release.
“I often get told stuff like, ‘Why aren’t you making a new sequel to NieR,’ or ‘Yoko Taro isn’t doing anything,’ but that’s because recently, a lot of projects I was involved in got discontinued midway through development.” — Yoko Taro
He added that the cancellations did not affect him personally, but his remarks underscored why the franchise has stayed quiet despite its continued presence across other studios and genres. For now, NieR maintains an important role in Square Enix’s wider ecosystem through steady crossover work rather than new releases.
The partnership with Ever Crisis fits that dynamic. It gives FF7 players another limited event to clear and provides NieR fans a brief return to a world without an announced future. The crossover’s structure is familiar, but its blend of visual styles offers enough novelty to mark the end of the year with one more intersection between two of Square Enix’s most recognizable series.
FF7 Rebirth’s latest PC update adds the full DLSS 4 suite, improving reconstruction quality and raising framerates for both high-end and mid-range RTX cards. The enhancements boost performance in demanding areas without forcing players to scale down resolution or visual settings.
