League of Legends: Wild Rift is making a triumphant return to the esports stage in 2025, as Riot Gamesunveils ambitious new plans for its Wild Rounds and Organized Play programs. Departing from traditional esports formats, Riot is doubling down on fun, community-driven competition, combining the excitement of pro-level matches with the personality of influencers and grassroots fans.

🎉 Wild Rounds: SMASH Returns Bigger Than Ever

Following the overwhelming success of Wild Rounds: SMASH in 2024—a cross-regional event that mixed pro players and influencers in 5v5 showdowns and relay-style 1v1/2v2 battles—Riot is scaling the concept. The format was experimental but resonated with players and viewers alike, blending high-skill gameplay with high-energy entertainment.

In 2025, Riot will host 18 Regional Wild Rounds tournaments across five key regions:

• Brazil
• Korea
• Philippines
• Turkey
• Vietnam

🗓️ Event Schedule: Each region will hold a tournament in:

• May/June
• August/September
• November/December

🤝 Partnering with Local Organizers for Broader Reach

To strengthen the grassroots scene, Riot is opening the door for third-party organizers to host Wild Rounds and Organized Play events tailored to their local communities. These partnerships will provide more localized, culturally relevant tournaments and allow broader access for passionate fans and semi-competitive players.

All regional tournaments will ultimately lead up to Wild Rounds: SMASH, the flagship event of the year. While Riot has yet to reveal the location, schedule, or participant list, we do know that:

• Influencers and community reps from the five key regions will return
• Pro teams from China will also participate
