After Rockstar Games introduced three playable characters in GTA 5 back in 2013—a historic first for the franchise—the studio decided to pull off a similar move in the sixth installment—but this time, the number of protagonists was reduced to two. Nevertheless, their relationship is expected to become a key mechanic of the game, influencing both the plot and the gameplay.

With the premiere of Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look on Netflix last week, Rockstar has already revealed quite a few new details about the game. Speaking of the relationship between Jason and Lucia, the two main characters, it has been revealed that a romantic relationship is optional, but if you spend more time together, the chances of it happening increase. That said, ignoring each other—including through text messages or other forms of communication—can strain their relationship. Rockstar promises that this will have consequences for the success of heists and may also affect the story.

As IGN recently revealed, visiting strip clubs in GTA 6—whether as one character or another—will also have consequences. Incidentally, the gaming media also confirmed that there will be more than five of them in the game.

But visiting them too often might actually cause problems for Jason and Lucia. Their relationship can be affected by what you do and how you spend your time in the game.

Jason and Lucia can hang out together or go off and do their own thing, and some of those choices can change how their relationship develops.

This is yet another indication of how much Rockstar is striving for realism in GTA 6. Apparently, to avoid issues with visiting strip clubs or other entertainment venues in the game, players can do so with a couple of characters during breaks from story missions or regular heists. It’s believed that this is just the tip of the iceberg compared to how massive Grand Theft Auto VI actually is, and there’s still more to come. As for the strip clubs in the game, shortly before the official gameplay premiere, a leak already appeared showing Jason inside one of these places; specifically, it shows the protagonist watching the dancers through binoculars.
