It has been almost two years since the announcement of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, the new video game developed by Naughty Dog (Uncharted, The Last of Us), but apart from the initial teaser, the studio hasn't yet revealed any official details, including a release date. However, a reliable insider has reported that the game could be available as soon as next year.

Following the recent confirmation that God of War: Laufey is set to be released on February 16, 2027, an X user asked the reliable gaming insider NateTheHate whether this meant that Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet might be postponed until 2028. The insider replied that Naughty Dog intends to release the game next year, although he did not specify an approximate release window, as you can check out his words below:

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that a new Naughty Dog title will be released next year. Previously, it came to light that the studio was recruiting language testing specialists (QA); this usually indicates that the game is already in the final stages of development—and summer 2027 was named as the approximate release window, especially as Naughty Dog’s previous projects have been released between May and August in various years. Nevertheless, it’s worth mentioning the words of actor Kumail Nanjiani, who is involved in the game’s development, that Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is “gonna come out in a couple of years.”

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is an upcoming action-adventure PlayStation 5 exclusive, which is rumored to be twice as big as The Last of Us: Part 2 and feature RPG elements. The release date for Naughty Dog’s latest title remains unknown for now.
