Resident Evil Veronica vil motta massiv DLC etter lanseringen i 2027

Well-known Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem, who very recently reported that Capcom plans to release major DLC for new entries in the series, has shared an update on that front. Specifically, he confirmed the studio's upcoming remake, Resident Evil Veronica, will not be an exception here and revealed a possible release window.

On his X page, he responded to a recent statement made by Capcom producer Masachika Kawata about the lack of new Resident Evil spin-offs. Dusk Golem wrote that instead, the studio has decided to expand the franchise through major DLC releases for its confirmed titles—Resident Evil Requiem and Resident Evil Veronica—and likely for future entries too, including new games and remakes. He also reported the Requiem DLC is targeting a late 2027 release date, with the Veronica DLC eyed to launch in 2028. You can check out his full report below:

“Capcom's temporary solution to there being no spin-offs in the works is they've in the last few months decided to focus on major several hours long DLC story expansions for Resident Evil Requiem & Veronica, & possibly future RE titles to fit into current pipeline.

But I will clarify these DLCs are coming out way after the games & this is a recent development & choice. Requiem's story DLC is eyeing a late 2027 release date at present, Veronica's will probably be somewhere in 2028 over a year after the game came out too.”

On the topic of the missing spin-offs, in the latest Game Informer issue, Kawata claimed that the studio's current priority is new mainline games and remakes, so fans shouldn't expect anything like Resident Evil: Revelations anytime soon. In the same interview, he confirmed Capcom plans to release new Resident Evil titles every year, alternating between new projects and remakes of older entries.

Resident Evil Veronica and the Requiem story DLC remain the only confirmed franchise projects for now. Rumor also has it the studio is working on a Resident Evil Zero remake, which is set to release in 2028, along with an enhanced version of the original title and the tenth mainline installment.

Resident Evil Veronica is set to release in 2027 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2, though the exact date is still unknown—same as with the Requiem DLC.
