Edison Motors annonserte en to-dagers pause 19. og 20. november før GTA 6-lanseringen

Not only die-hard fans but also major companies are eagerly anticipating the release of GTA 6—the most highly awaited game of 2026, which opened for pre-orders just last week. To prevent many employees from simply skipping work, management decided to designate November 19th as a day off. Following this trend, another prestigious company has also joined in.

As noticed by Reddit users, the Canadian company Edison Motors, known for manufacturing trucks, announced that November 19 and 20 will be days off for all employees to celebrate the release of GTA 6. Previously, similar gestures were made by the American tuning and auto service company Burger Motorsports and the Lebanese restaurant Fries Lab, though they only offered one day off. It seems this is far from the last instance, and there are still several months before the game’s launch. You can check out Edison Motors' official statement below:

To all stuff, customers, suppliers, investors, and partners.

Edison Motors will be observing a temporary company-wide operational pause on Thursday, November 19, and Friday, November 20, 2026.

After reviewing employee vacation requests, productivity forecasts, and unusually high levels of excitement throughout the organization, management has determined that normal business operations may be significantly impacted by the release of Grand Theft Auto VI.

Several team members have already advised management that they expect to be unavailable, unreachable, and/or “conducting important research in Vice City” for the duration of these two days.

The following departments may experience delays: Customer Support, Sales & Business Development, Parts & Service, Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance & Administration, Marketing & Social Media, and General Productivity.

Management has also received reports that some employees intend to begin gameplay at midnight and may not return to a functional state until sometime after the weekend.

Normal business operations are expected to resume once employees have spend the weekend stealing cars, evading law enforcement, engaging in questionable entrepreneurial activities, and participating in various other Vice City-related shenanigans.
