However, several well-known insiders have denied these claims. This time, though, a new report reveals the possible production cost of the console, which is approaching $1,000 per unit.

This information was provided by one of PlayStation's most reliable and trusted insiders, known by the username Kepler_L2. As reported by ResetEra, he previously estimated the cost of the PS6 to be around $760, but now it has increased by approximately $200 due to the ongoing shortage of components and rising prices. So if the PS6 launched today it would probably be in the ~$1000 maybe $1100 range. Obviously, it isn't launching soon so it puts the price on a pretty gnarly trajectory lol

In this context, ResetEra users speculate that the potential price of the PlayStation 6 will likely exceed $1,000. According to unofficial reports, the launch of the PlayStation 6, along with its direct competitor, Microsoft's Project Helix, is still planned for the holiday season of 2027.
