Resident Evil Remake-trilogien slippes på Nintendo Switch 2 i år

Capcom is currently developing a story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem as well as a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica, which was announced earlier this year at Summer Game Fest. Both projects are expected to launch in 2027. However, according to a recent report, another franchise release is anticipated this year on certain platforms.

Gaming insider NateTheHate, while interacting with users on the social media platform X, confirmed that Capcom plans to release remakes of the Resident Evil Trilogy—Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4—this year for the Nintendo Switch 2. Although no exact release date has been announced, the insider emphasized that the studio intends to launch the trilogy of remakes within this year.

- Do you know anything more about the REmakes 2,3 and 4 for switch 2?

- They are coming to SW2.

- This year?

- As of last plan, yes.

In addition to releasing the Resident Evil Trilogy Remake, Capcom is set to launch the long-awaited sequel to the Onimusha franchise, titled Way of the Sword, this year. The game will be released on September 25th for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. Recently, the studio revealed the system requirements for the PC version as well as the game specifications for the consoles.

As for Resident Evil, besides the previously mentioned Resident Evil Veronica and the story DLC for Requiem, Capcom has recently restarted development on the Resident Evil Zero remake. The main development team is now handling the project, with a tentative release date scheduled for 2028.
