Supercell reagerer på Clash of Clans Builder Base Bonanza-kontroversen

After days of complaints, memes, backlash, and even community petitions, Supercell has finally addressed the controversy surrounding the missing Builder Base Bonanza and Mass Troops events in Clash of Clans.

In an official statement, the developers confirmed that the situation was caused by an A/B test, meaning one group of players received access to the events while another group was intentionally excluded.

However, Supercell also reassured the community that players who missed the events this time will receive access to both features later in June 2026.

Builder Base Bonanza Sparked Massive Community Frustration

The backlash exploded shortly after players realized the highly anticipated Builder Base Bonanza event was unavailable for a portion of the player base.

The event itself quickly became popular because of how dramatically it boosted progression inside Builder Base.

Running from May 17 to May 31, 2026, Builder Base Bonanza introduced:

  • 50% reduced upgrade costs
  • 50% shorter upgrade times
  • Faster hero progression
  • Reduced Star Laboratory research timers
  • Discounted walls and buildings
  • 4x Star Bonus rewards
  • Additional event tasks with progression items

Many players immediately described it as the Builder Base equivalent of the famous Hammer Jam event.

Players Felt Excluded From One of the Best Progression Events

The biggest issue was not the event itself, but the fact that many players never received access to it at all.

Once the discrepancy became widely known, frustration rapidly spread across:

  • Reddit
  • X (formerly Twitter)
  • YouTube communities
  • Clash of Clans forums

The community reaction ranged from memes and jokes to direct criticism toward Supercell’s communication and testing methods.

Some players mocked the idea of A/B testing progression events, while others accused the company of experimenting with monetization systems.

One Player Even Considered Refunds

The controversy intensified after several players revealed they had already spent money preparing for the event before discovering they were part of the excluded group.

One frustrated player reportedly described the situation as “unacceptable” and considered quitting the game entirely while also requesting refunds before Supercell released its official response.

The announcement appears to have eased some tensions, although criticism surrounding the communication strategy still remains widespread.

Supercell Admits Communication Was Handled Poorly

To the company’s credit, Supercell openly acknowledged that communication around the testing phase could have been handled much better.

The developers admitted that failing to clearly explain the A/B test beforehand created unnecessary confusion and frustration throughout the community.

For now, the most important takeaway for affected players is that:

  • Builder Base Bonanza will return in June
  • Excluded players will receive access later
  • Mass Troops events are also expected to return

Community Still Watching Closely

Although the situation has calmed slightly following Supercell’s statement, the controversy has reignited larger discussions about:
