The SNES library has received the Super Famicom version of the game Kirby’s Star Stacker, a puzzle game that was previously unavailable on the SNES in the West. This release marks the first 16-bit version of the game outside of Japan.

The NES library has been enriched with two other Japanese games - Joy Mech Fight and Downtown Nekketsu March Super-Awesome Field Day.

Additionally, the Game Boy Color library has been supplemented with one game - Quest for Camelot.

The puzzle game with falling blocks, Kirby’s Star Stacker, was globally released for the Game Boy in 1997, but in Japan, a remake for the Super Famicom was released in 1998 under the title Kirby no Kirakira Kizzu.

This SNES version of the game was previously reissued on the Wii Virtual Console in Japan and was added to Switch Online in July. However, it is only today that it has become available in the West under the name Kirby’s Star Stacker.

Downtown Nekketsu March Super-Awesome Field Day is a sports game with action elements, serving as a Japanese sequel to the NES game known in the West as River City Ransom/ Street Gangs. This game was released in the West just a few years ago as part of a retro compilation.

The same cannot be said for Joy Mech Fight, a fighting game for the Famicom developed by Nintendo, which has also become available in the West for the first time today.

Quest For Camelot, on the other hand, is an action RPG for the Game Boy based on the Warner Bros animated film of the same name. This release is also of interest for Switch Online because games related to movies are usually absent from the service, with some exceptions (e.g., GoldenEye 007), primarily due to licensing restrictions.

Games for NES, SNES, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color are available as part of the standard Switch Online subscription, priced at $19.99/ £17.99/ €19.99 for a 12-month individual membership.
