In a surprising turn of events, a group of psychiatrists has declared that the teenage hacker responsible for attempting to leak Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) is unfit to stand trial. The hacker, known for his infamous blackmail attempts on Rockstar Games, as well as hacking into prominent companies such as Uber and Nvidia Corp, has raised concerns about his mental capacity.

Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5) has achieved monumental success, becoming one of the highest-selling games of all time and amassing nearly $8 billion in revenue. With the anticipation surrounding GTA 6, fans eagerly latch onto every rumor related to the game. Rockstar Games, on the other hand, diligently works to intercept and prevent any leaks from reaching the public. However, the company likely never anticipated a young hacker attempting to blackmail them over the highly anticipated title.

18-year-old Arion Kurtaj, a member of the hacker group known as Lapsus$, made headlines when he sought to release the source code of GTA 6 online as part of his blackmail strategy against Rockstar Games. Kurtaj has a history of hacking into major companies, including causing nearly $3 million worth of damage to Uber by leaking private information. Psychiatrists now assert that Kurtaj lacks the mental capacity to stand trial, leaving the jury to determine if he indeed committed the alleged crimes rather than delivering a verdict based solely on his guilt.

The story surrounding Kurtaj and his partner in crime almost resembles a side mission within GTA 6, but the reality is all too true. Alongside an unnamed accomplice, Kurtaj demanded a ransom of four million dollars from EE, a British mobile company. Both hackers were considered key players within Lapsus$, an internationally dispersed and highly organized group known for targeting major companies like Samsung, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Ubisoft.

Kurtaj faces three counts of blackmail and nine additional charges, including fraud. His unidentified partner stands trial for two counts of fraud, two counts of blackmail, and three other related offenses, vehemently denying any involvement. Rockstar Games has yet to make an official statement regarding these recent developments or provide any updates on the release date of GTA 6.
