Aya Nakamura, DJ Snake og Theodora skal være hovedaktører under åpningsseremonien for e-sport-VM 2026
The Esports World Cup 2026 has unveiled the star-studded lineup for its opening ceremony, with French music icons Aya Nakamura, DJ Snake, and Theodora set to headline the event. The ceremony will officially launch the first-ever international Esports World Cup in Paris, bringing together esports, music, and digital culture on one stage.
A Celebration of Modern French Culture
According to the Esports Foundation, the opening show is designed to be much more than a tournament kickoff. Organizers aim to showcase the creativity and diversity of contemporary French culture, highlighting the influence of music, streaming, online communities, and content creators.
Mike McCabe, Deputy CEO and COO of the Esports Foundation, explained that Paris was chosen not only as the host city but also as a symbol of modern cultural innovation.
He noted that Aya Nakamura, DJ Snake, and Theodora each represent different artistic styles, but together embody the creativity and global influence that make Paris a fitting home for the tournament.
Aya Nakamura Leads the Lineup
One of the most anticipated performers is Aya Nakamura, widely recognized as one of France’s most successful modern artists.
The singer rose to international fame with chart-topping hits such as Djadja and further cemented her status by performing during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games. Often referred to by French media as the “Queen of the French Music Scene,” Nakamura has become a cultural icon both in France and abroad.
DJ Snake Brings Global Appeal
Joining her on stage will be DJ Snake, one of the world's most recognizable French DJs and producers.
Raised in the suburbs of Paris, DJ Snake built an international career by blending electronic music with hip-hop, pop, and influences from cultures around the globe. His work frequently incorporates elements ranging from K-pop to Middle Eastern and African sounds, helping him reach audiences worldwide.
Theodora Represents a New Generation
The third headline performer is Theodora, also known as Miss Kitoko.
Regarded as one of the brightest emerging stars in French music, Theodora represents a generation shaped by social media, streaming services, and digital communities. Her inclusion highlights the event’s focus on connecting traditional entertainment with modern online culture.
Esports World Cup 2026 Set for a Massive Showcase
The Esports World Cup 2026 will take place in Paris from July 6 to August 23 and is expected to be one of the largest esports events ever organized.
More than 2,000 players and 200 clubs from 100 countries will compete across 25 tournaments covering 24 different esports titles.
With a lineup featuring some of France’s biggest musical talents, organizers are aiming to deliver an opening ceremony that reflects both the scale of the competition and the cultural identity of its host city.
