LDN UTD vil forlate disiplinen VALORANT
According to the BLIX.GG portal, the British esports organization LDN UTD will soon leave the competitive discipline VALORANT. This decision is due to the lack of investment to maintain the composition in the future and other changes in the overall ecosystem.
It is reported that the change in strategy will occur if no additional investment is attracted from outside, since the lack of funding is one of the reasons that prompted these changes.
The organization LDN UTD has been a part of VALORANT since March 2021. In October, the club made significant changes to the roster, which later became the winner of the Meta Open Valorant and LVP - Rising Series #4, and also took part in the VCT 2022: EMEA Stage 1 Challengers.
In the summer of this year, the organization announced a merger with OG, as a result of which the roster continued to play under the OG LDN UTD tag and took fourth place in the VCT 2022: EMEA Last Chance Qualifier.
OG is currently in charge of the salary component of the LDN UTD roster. At the same time, the exit from VALORANT may be associated with a new partnership model that Riot Games is implementing in 2023. At the same time, OG is included in the list of organizations suitable for joining the franchise league in the EMEA region.
Sources also state that LDN UTD is changing its approach to its business and operating models. Now the organization is focused on holding events, organizing tournaments and similar activities. Instead of focusing solely on the development of the esports component of their activities.
Notably, LDN UTD has already dropped out of its League of Legends division following poor results in the NLC. In addition, the club has ceased its participation in the FIFA and Fortnite disciplines.
The current OG LDN UTD VALORANT roster is as follows:
- Boo
- Feqew
- Destrian
- MOLSI
- hype
- Salah and Strong (coaching staff)
