Croteam og Devolved Digital annonserte Serious Sam: The Third Encounter – en ny versjon av Shooter fra 2002

This year, Devolved Digital released Serious Sam: Shatterverse, developed by Behaviour Interactive, which came out this summer and received mixed reviews from the press and players. It turns out this isn't the only new project in the legendary franchise—and the latest news should be especially exciting for longtime fans.

The publisher has announced that Serious Sam: The Third Encounter —a follow-up to the second installment, which was released in 2002—is currently in development, with Croteam serving as the developer. The game will pick up exactly where The Second Encounter left off. Check out the debut trailer for the new installment below:

I’M BACK IN THE THIRD ENCOUNTER, BABY!

Serious Sam: The Third Encounter has already appeared on Steam, where it is noted that the game is in the early stages of development. The page also features the first screenshots, as well as the minimum system requirements. Based on the available description, The Third Encounter will be a classic Serious Sam game where you’ll take up arms and battle hordes of various enemies while traveling through different locations. You’ll also be able to complete the game with friends in co-op mode.

The developers also mocked Valve on social media, writing: “If I can count to 3, so can you.” This is an obvious reference to Half-Life 3, and it’s fascinating that Serious Sam: The Third Encounter was announced shortly after the latest rumors about an alleged leak of Half-Life 3, which mentions HLX —the supposed title of the long-awaited third game in the series.

Serious Sam: The Third Encounter is in development for PC, with the release date currently unknown.
