Bandai Namco has published the exact release times for Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve across all regions. The game will launch simultaneously on every platform and in every region, so players in different time zones won't have to wait longer than anyone else.

The full release is set for October 2, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. However, owners of the Deluxe Edition and the Joker Flight Pack can start playing today, September 28, three days ahead of launch.

• New York (EDT): early access September 28 at 6:00 PM, release October 1 at 6:00 PM

• Berlin, Warsaw (CEST): early access September 29 at 12:00 AM, release October 2 at 12:00 AM

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is available in three editions. The Standard Edition costs $69.99, the Deluxe Edition is $89.99, and the physical Joker Flight Pack collector's edition is $149.99. Besides early access, the Deluxe Edition includes the F-4E Mobius Squadron 25th Anniversary and F/A-18C Team Zvezda aircraft skins, the Tasha Costume Set, and Scarlet Missile Smoke.

The Joker Flight Pack also adds two vinyl records, an official artbook, a special slipcase, and slipmats. Unlike many of this year's releases, the game won't be on Game Pass at launch.

The first reviews are already out, and critics have rated the game highly. On OpenCritic, it holds an average score of 89 out of 100 based on 34 reviews. Reviewers praise the responsive arcade-style combat, large-scale aerial battles, impressive cloudscapes, and cinematic presentation, while criticizing the repetitive mission structure and story pacing.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is developed by Bandai Namco Aces. It's the first full numbered entry in the series since Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, released in 2019.
