Nyinnspillinger av Resident Evil Veronica og Zero vil ha en relasjon til Requiem

Future remakes of classic Resident Evil titles from Capcom, such as Resident Evil Veronica announced at Summer Game Fest and Resident Evil Zero, are expected to not only expand the story and gameplay features but also have connections to the ninth installment in the series, Resident Evil Requiem, much to the fans' delight.

Last week, well-known insider Dusk Golem, referencing one of the producers of Resident Evil Veronica, mentioned that the upcoming remake would be connected to recent projects in the franchise, including Requiem. He also suggested that it might involve the organization known as The Connections and the villain Zeno personally. While interacting with other users on the ResetEra forum—where the main discussion centered around the Resident Evil 5 remake—the insider reiterated that the upcoming remakes, specifically Resident Evil Veronica and Resident Evil Zero, will somehow tie into Requiem, as you can check out the highlights below:

“The original tweet I was quote tweeting is claiming Capcom has some plan to do a remake line leading up to Requiem and restructure the narrative as part of some long-term plan. This is false, Capcom has no idea right now what they want to do with RE5 and RE6 in remaking them, if they ever even decide to do them (right now they're not committed to that at all), and they definitely aren't making these remakes as some idea to restructure the whole series to Requiem. There's not a plan right now to lead up to Requiem with the Remakes, and really they'll only decide what they want to do with an RE5/RE6 Remake if they ever decide to actually do them. There's not some "master plan" to any of this, they aren't thinking that far ahead about it. They tend to keep to only thinking 5 years ahead at any time broadly and will reassess every few years where they should go with the franchise rather than planning some super long-term plan.

There's nuance to the topic, again I think RE5 will probably be remade some day because I think it's incredibly likely fan demand for it will increase after Veronica, Zero, & RE:1, and eventually Capcom won't ignore that. That's just what I tend to think will happen. But the claim the quoted tweet was making is completely false in literally all its details. There is no plan to remake RE5/RE6 right now, there isn't some imitative to remake all the Resident Evil games specifically, and they aren't thinking of tying this Remake line to Requiem specifically. Veronica and Zero Remake will tie into Requiem, but honestly that has a lot more to do with the fact they were in dev at the same time as Requiem than any master plan idea, and Requiem specifically sets up Veronica & RE:0 to tie more into itself.”

It's interesting to consider how exactly Capcom will connect Resident Evil Veronica and the remake of Resident Evil Zero with Requiem, especially since Zero is actually a prequel to the entire franchise, and the events of Code Veronica are primarily intertwined with those of Resident Evil 2. It's also worth remembering that Capcom is working on story DLC for Requiem, and it's possible that this content will be linked in some way to at least one of the upcoming remakes.
