Kontroll 3 kan skje – men det avhenger av hvor vellykket Control Resonant blir

This September is indeed packed— if not completely overflowing —with major AAA game releases. Among the most prominent is undoubtedly Control Resonant, the sequel to the original 2019 game. Remedy has confirmed that this is their biggest project in the studio's history, and they are placing very high hopes on its success.

This week, it was revealed that Control Resonant, being Remedy's largest project to date, will also feature the studio’s most extensive marketing campaign ever. According to the studio's communications director, Thomas Puha, this approach will not only help the game stand out among the major September releases but also attract a broader audience. Meanwhile, Control Resonant’s Art Director, Elmeri Raitanen, gave an interview to Insider Gaming, where he stated that the future development of the Control universe hinges on Resonant's success, and he personally hopes the developers will continue to explore and tell more stories within the franchise, as you can check out below:

“Let’s hope that we do well so we can do even more stories in the Control universe”

In the same interview, Raitanen explained Remedy's desire to move away from the typical third-person shooter formula and focus on making Control: Resonant feel more like an action RPG. According to the art director, this approach stems from the fact that the game's protagonist, Dylan, was originally envisioned as a "melee-action brawler". Additionally, it serves as a way to attract a new audience related to this genre.

Despite the introduction of the new main character, Jesse, the protagonist from the original 2019’s Control will also appear in Resonant. She was featured in the game's story trailer shown during State of Play, and since then, her updated appearance has sparked quite a debate among fans.

Besides Control Resonant, Remedy is also developing Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes, which are now in full production, as well as a new IP, which is currently at the concept stage.
