Nytt inFamous-videospill ryktes å være under utvikling – men ikke fra Sucker Punch Productions

Over the last few years, Sucker Punch Productions has recommended themselves as developers for one of the best PlayStation exclusives—Ghost of Tsushima in 2020 and its sequel, Ghost of Yotei, last year. However, many fans would like to see the studio return to the franchise that brought them immense popularity back in the day—namely, the inFamous game series.

Rumors have recently surfaced suggesting that Sucker Punch is considering a return to the inFamous franchise, with ongoing discussions likely exploring whether to develop a new title or release updated versions of previous installments.

More intriguing information was shared by Jordan Middleton, editor-in-chief of Video Games Chronicle, during a recent episode of the VGC Podcast. According to his reports, PlayStation is indeed working on a new installment in the inFamous series, though the game is being developed by another studio rather than Sucker Punch. Nevertheless, according to Middleton, he is still "impressed" by this turn of events.

In addition, he stated that Sony is considering reviving the Ape Escape franchise, while Sucker Punch is exploring the idea of a Ghost sequel following the overwhelming success of Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yotei. Furthermore, now that the developers have officially announced the end of support for Ghost of Yotei: Legends, they can shift their full attention to a new project.

As for now, none of this information is confirmed, so this report should be considered as a rumor. The latest inFamous video game, inFamous: Second Son, came out in 2014 exclusively for PlayStation 4. It also received a standalone add-on, inFamous First Light, the same year, and it serves as a prequel to the original game.
