Insider avslører Capcoms planer om å gi ut nye Resident Evil-titler
This year, Capcom released Resident Evil Requiem—the ninth installment of horror game series, which has become the studio’s best-selling entry. A few days ago, the game broke another record and sold 7 million copies worldwide, which was confirmed by its director, Koshi Nakanishi.
Capcom is officially working on story expansion to Resident Evil Requiem, though official details of DLC are currently unknown. It’s been rumored that Leon S. Kennedy, Ada Wong, Grace Ashcroft, and Alyssa Ashcroft might all be involved. However, the studio’s next big thing about Resident Evil franchise is the remake of Code Veronica.
Despite the game not having been announced yet, Resident Evil Marcox confirms that Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake is Capcom’s top priority at the moment. The official announcement is expected this year, and release is planned for 2027.
“Recent leaks suggest that Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake has become a top priority for Capcom.
It is expected to be officially revealed later in 2026, with a release date in the first half of 2027.”
In his further posts on X social media, scooper reveal more information about Capcom’s plans to release new Resident Evil titles, add-ons, and some other details:
- Upcoming remake of Code Veronica will not remove any content and instead will add story expansions and add more weight to Wesker, with Rockford Island being a semi-open world where Claire will be able to drive a motorcycle.
- Resident Evil Requiem might receive a PSVR2 version, which will be announced at the next Sony’s State of Play event. Also, this May the game will receive a free update that will add a combat mode, which is described as a mix of The Mercenaries and Raid Mode.
- Resident Evil: Zero Remake will be the studio's next title after Code Veronica remake. It will be released in close succession, between 2027 and 2028.
- Story expansion (DLC) for Resident Evil Requiem will open a “true ending” to the game, which will set up events for Resident Evil 10. It also will be priced at $30, get a teaser trailer this summer, and be released later this year.
Recently, Marcox revealed more information about Resident Evil game series. Specifically, according to his information, the upcoming Resident Evil 10 games will feature a new protagonist, Talia, with Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Jill Valentine all fighting against the game’s protagonist, Alex Wesker.
