Insomniac Games har tilsynelatende kansellert Marvel's Venom

Insomniac Games is preparing to launch their new title, Marvel’s Wolverine, on PlayStation 5 exclusively on PlayStation 5. The studio is also reportedly working on some unannounced titles within their own Marvel universe, but it looks like one of the titles was cancelled.

During the latest interview with Love it Film, Nadji Jeter, the voice actor of Miles Morales in Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, revealed that Insomniac Games cancelled a game about Venom that was actually never announced but rumored to be in development. He confirmed that the studio actually worked on the title, but the project was cancelled due to the passing of Venom’s voice actor, Tony Todd, in 2024. For now, we haven’t heard any comments on Marvel’s Venom from Insomniac Games, but if Nadji Jeter speaks out, maybe we will receive more official information anytime soon.

Marvel’s Venom is not the only Insomniac Games project that was cancelled. Back in 2013, it was revealed that the studio worked on the co-op online title Spider-Man: The Great Web, where players would have been able to play the different versions of Spider-Man and move across different dimensions. It was a live-service title, and not only that, but Insomniac Games’ focus on Marvel’s Wolverine has become a crucial reason to refuse the game. Moreover, the studio is believed to cancel more DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, with one of them possibly featuring Daredevil.

As for studio’s next installment, Marvel’s Wolverine will be released on September 15 exclusively for PlayStation 5. The studio is also working on Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, with mocap that could have started, which was teased by Peter Parker’s actor, Ben Jordan.
