Assassin’s Creed-regissøren for kodenavnet Hexe har forlatt Ubisoft

Despite this week being crucial for Ubisoft and Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, as the game was finally unveiled, the next mainline game series title, Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe, which was announced in 2022 and still doesn't have a release date, has received another disappointing update.

This year, Benoit Richer, game director of Batman: Arkham Origins and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla add-ons—Wrath of the Druids, Dawn of Ragnarok, and The Siege of Paris— has been appointed as game director of Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe. However, as revealed via his LinkedIn account, he just left Ubisoft to join Servo Games as Game Director. For now, the reason why he left the company is not revealed.

Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe is going through a bit of a crisis, as last month the game lost its creative director, Clint Hocking, a Ubisoft veteran who has worked as creative director on such titles as Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Far Cry 2, and Watch Dogs: Legion. He was replaced by Jean Guesdon, the new head of the content of Assassin’s Creed brand. Before Hocking, Codename Hexe’s level design director, Luc Couture, also announced his departure from Ubisoft.

The details of Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe are mostly unknown, but Ubisoft confirmed the game is still in development and teased the studio will need more time before revealing more information about it. The game is the next mainline game in the series and is set during the 16th-century Witch Hunts of Germany. As for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, the game is releasing for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 on July 9.
