Besides plenty of new IP that is being released this month, such as Samson, Pragmata, and Mouse P.I. For Hire, the expansion Lord of Hatred for Diablo IV remains one of the most anticipated releases this month. With the game's release fast approaching, the first reviews of the expansion from gaming media have begun to appear online.

By all accounts, Blizzard Entertainment has managed to bring the story arc to a satisfying conclusion, as most publications have praised Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred, highlighting the new Warlock class and its bold narrative. At the same time, however, the Paladin class has been called a disappointment, with critics noting its lack of originality and the absence of new ideas. The DLC is currently having an 82 score on Metacritic, based on 31 Critic Reviews, and an 83 Top Critics Average on OpenCritic, with an 89% Critics Recommend rating. You can check out a few reviews from notable gaming media below:

GamingTrend – 95/100:

“Felling demonic hordes as the Paladin and Warlock is as addicting as ever. The expansion's new systems are welcome variety for an already-rich game. When you add additional post-game content and a top-tier storytelling experience, you have one of the best modern expansions available. Diablo fans deserve excellence and Blizzard has delivered.”

Wccftech – 90/100:

“Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred is an excellent expansion that breathes new life into the hack-and-slash action RPG game. The expansion closes a lengthy narrative arc in truly epic fashion, the new Warlock class is extremely fun to play, and the new systems greatly improve build variety and endgame planning.”

PC Gamer – 90/100:

“Lord of Hatred brings a campaign packed with thrills and a systems refresh that revolutionizes the loot chase.”

Game Rant – 90/100:

“I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Lord of Hatred and think it goes a long way towards improving the Diablo 4 experience as a whole. While I could nitpick a few issues here and there, the package in its entirety is an impressive expansion that offers tons of welcome features and challenges to keep Diablo 4 players engaged in endgame content for hundreds of hours more. I can easily see Lord of Hatred becoming one of the most beloved expansions in the Diablo franchise.”

Forbes – 85/100:

“I don’t know if Lord of Hatred is enough to get me hopelessly addicted to Diablo 4 again like I was at the start, but the campaign storyline and both new classes are impressive.”

Destructoid – 85/100:

“Lord of Hatred is Diablo 4's best DLC offering yet, bringing an excellent narrative campaign and two playable classes that are rife with opportunity to customize and build with.”

IGN – 80/100:

“Lord of Hatred understands what Diablo is supposed to feel like, and then spends a surprising amount of time giving you something else entirely. Bright skies, calm waters, and a version of Sanctuary that hasn’t collapsed yet. So when it inevitably does, when Mephisto tightens his grip, and everything starts to crumble, it lands with more weight than it otherwise would.”
