Crimson Desert-spillere anklager Pearl Abyss for å lyve om monteringssystemet

It’s been one week since Crimson Desert, one of the most anticipated video games of 2026, arrived. Although some big gaming outlets have rated the game really high, the gamers are mostly dissatisfied with Pearl Abyss's installment for many reasons.

As we know, the storyline of Crimson Desert has been rewritten during the development, which was confirmed by an anonymous employee of Pearl Abyss studio, and the plot is something gamers didn’t enjoy during the game’s walkthrough—as well as technical issues. You can also check out why exactly so many players hate Crimson Desert so well here.

It looks like there is another, quite serious reason for most Crimson Desert fans to dislike the title. As we remember, before the game’s launch, Pearl Abyss demonstrated how the players would be able to ride a giant dragon as you soar over a vast world of Pywel. As it turned out, you can only use a dragon as a mount for 15 minutes in Crimson Desert, and then you have to wait 50 minutes of real time to make it again—the players were absolutely in shock and disappointed by this feature.

A new wave of hatred has just hit the developers of Crimson Desert once again, and it now centers on animals and their use as a means of transportation. Again, during the trailers, Pearl Abyss revealed the players will be able to use plenty of animals to ride across the Pywel—including bears, wolves, and prey birds. In his latest post on Reddit, user Tic-Tac-UAP has accused the developers of lying during Crimson Desert’s marketing, as you can only summon a regular horse by pressing a specific key. Moreover, if you want to ride a way more exotic animal, firstly you must beat it in a fight—and only then are you able to ride. You can check out the post from the Reddit user below, where he also advises reporting this to Pearl Abyss (however, the site is not available right now):

“The only permanent mounts in game that you can summon at will are horses. Pearl Abyss knew what they were doing when they showed off the bear, raptor, wolf and dragons with saddles on them, they misled people into believing they were tameable and theyre not. If you want to ride any other creature, you can only beat it until its tired enough to let you mount it and then it becomes instantly aggressive again. Report this to their support for change.

As for the dragon, its the only "tameable" mount, but its on an HOUR cooldown in a single player game with no option to reduce the cool down. So if youre an adult, and youre lucky, you can use the dragon maybe twice a play session.

This needs to be changed. Feels like false advertisement.”

This feels like another reason for some fans to call Crimson Desert a disappointment, and they certainly have the right and reason to do it. Before its release, Crimson Desert had been looking like one of the most promising projects of 2026 and an exciting RPG, but it just turned out to be a passable product that doesn't evoke any strong feelings. The game has recently lost almost any chance to win the Game of the Year award, as it now has a 5% probability of winning.
