Helldivers 2. mars 2026-oppdatering legger til nye Illuminate-trusler og innholdskart
Developer Arrowhead Game Studios has officially released Patch 6.1.0 for Helldivers 2, introducing new content, gameplay balance changes, and a roadmap outlining what players can expect during the first half of 2026.
The update is now live on all supported platforms and includes the Entrenched Division Premium Warbond, new combat adjustments, and the return of the Illuminate faction with additional enemies and dangerous planetary hazards. However, some of the update’s most important features will become available starting March 20, when new missions officially launch.
New Illuminate Threats Arrive on March 20
Beginning March 20, Helldivers will face renewed attacks from the mysterious Illuminate faction, one of the galaxy’s most dangerous enemy forces.
The update introduces several new enemy types, including Illuminate Piloted Constructs, which come in two main combat variants:
- VERACITOR – designed for close-quarters combat
- GATEKEEPER – specializes in long-range attacks
Another enemy variant, OBTRUDER, expands the capabilities of the Watcher units by inserting itself into combat zones where players least expect it.
A new sub-faction called Illuminate Appropriators has also appeared. These units arrive in Illuminate Fleets and rely heavily on advanced constructs rather than large infantry groups.
Alongside them, players will encounter massive swarms of Voteless and Fleshmobs, creating chaotic battlefield situations that require coordinated team strategies.
New Planetary Hazard: Illuminate Exostorms
One of the biggest environmental additions in Patch 6.1.0 is the Exostorm system, a new planetary condition affecting worlds controlled by the Illuminate.
These storms introduce dangerous gameplay modifiers such as:
- Extremely strong winds
- Frequent lightning strikes
- Reduced visibility
Exostorms exist in three intensity levels, with higher tiers dramatically increasing mission difficulty.
To neutralize these storms, players must complete a brand-new mission type called Destroy Exospire.
New Mission: Destroy Exospire
The Exospire structures are responsible for generating the devastating Exostorms across Illuminate-controlled planets.
To disable them, squads must complete a multi-step objective.
First, players must locate and overload the access nodes connected to underground shield generators protecting the Exospire.
Once the shield is disabled, the team can enter the structure and destroy the core powered by Dark Fluid cells, permanently dispersing the storm.
Completing these missions will restore safer planetary conditions and help push back the Illuminate invasion.
Entrenched Division Premium Warbond
Patch 6.1.0 introduces a new premium equipment set called the Entrenched Division Warbond, available for 1,000 Super Credits.
Inspired by World War I-era combat, the Warbond includes several new tools designed for trench-style warfare and defensive tactics.
New equipment includes:
- New light and medium armor sets
- A portable flamethrower
- The Giga Grenade, a powerful hammer-shaped explosive
These items provide new tactical options for players preparing to face the Illuminate threat.
Flamethrower Behavior Changes
The update also introduces a significant gameplay mechanic involving flamethrowers.
Enemies that are hit directly in the face by flamethrower attacks will now panic, slow down, and behave erratically.
This behavior affects multiple enemy factions, including:
- Small to medium Automatons
- Small to large Terminids
- Small to medium Illuminate units
These enemies may begin attacking randomly when engulfed in flames, making flamethrowers more effective crowd-control weapons.
Weapon and Stratagem Balance Changes
Several weapons and stratagems were adjusted in Patch 6.1.0 to improve overall gameplay balance.

Enemy Behavior Updates
Enemy AI also received several changes.
Smaller enemies across multiple factions will now panic when struck by flamethrowers, potentially attacking random targets nearby.
Additionally, Automaton Vox Engines have been adjusted to spawn less frequently and feature improved behavior during combat.
Roadmap for the First Half of 2026
For the first time since launch, Arrowhead Game Studios also revealed a content roadmap covering the first half of 2026.
The roadmap confirms two additional major updates after Patch 6.1.0.
Upcoming Updates
April Update

- Galactic War campaign expansion
- Additional quality-of-life improvements
June Update
- Another Warbond
- Additional campaign events

Exact details about these updates have not yet been revealed.
PC Client Size Reduction
The March update also removes the old “legacy build” of the PC client, which previously required 154GB of storage.
Players must now use the optimized 23GB game client to continue playing and receiving updates.
Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements
Patch 6.1.0 includes numerous bug fixes across gameplay systems, enemies, and UI.
Some highlights include:

- Fixing a crash caused by grenades hitting Vox Engine weakpoints
- Fixing Cyborg AI crashes while taking cover
- Correcting issues with laser weapons failing to break armor
- Fixing orbital lasers targeting enemies inside caves
- Preventing guard dog drones from blocking interaction screens
- Fixing grenade damage issues with G-50 seeker grenades
Many additional fixes address enemy behavior, weapon interactions, and UI bugs.
Known Issues
Despite the large patch, several known issues remain.
These include:
- Missing materials and color bugs on some weapons
- The Burier of Heads title not appearing in the Armory

Arrowhead has confirmed these problems will be addressed in future updates.
What’s Next for Helldivers 2

Players can expect the conflict to escalate further in the upcoming April and June updates, which will expand the campaign and introduce additional weapons, missions, and gameplay features.
