Ubisoft’s restructuring, announced back in January, seems to be underway, as the studio now confirmed a new leadership team to lead one of its most famous gaming franchises, Assassin’s Creed. It includes some of the experienced Assassin’s Creed developers, and hopefully the game series will advance in the right direction.

A new article on Ubisoft’s website reveals this new team “to shape the Next Era of Assassin’s Creed.” Specifically, the company announced a new head of brand, content, and production excellence, and all of them are familiar with Assassin’s Creed. Martin Schelling will be the new Head of Brand; previously, he worked as a senior producer on Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed: Origins, and Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. Then, Jean Guesdon will serve as the Head of Content. He is known as the designer of the original Assassin’s Creed title, and also, he was the creative director of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed: Origins. At last, François de Billy is now the game series’ Head of Production Excellence; his latest position was a production director of Assassin’s Creed: Origins and Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.

Ubisoft Announced The New Era of Assassin’s Creed Franchise 1

This is definitely the right move by Ubisoft to appoint experienced employees to develop the Assassin’s Creed franchise, and hopefully they will handle their new roles. As for game series, recently Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed multiple Assassin’s Creed games are in development, as well as two new Far Cry games.

We know Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, the remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, is being developed, as well as Assassin’s Creed Hexe, the next mainline game in the franchise, set during the witch trials in the Holy Roman Empire and announced back in 2022. Moreover, there is a multiplayer title codenamed Assassin’s Creed Invictus. Unfortunately, all of them don’t have release dates yet, and there is a chance none of the projects will release in 2026.
