When Elden Ring: Nightreign launched, FromSoftware offered just two ways to play: solo or in three-player sessions. While the studio has hinted that a dedicated two-player co-op mode might be added later, one modder didn’t wait — and got it working in just 24 hours.

Modder Yui released an updated version of the Seamless Co-op mod, enabling two-player cooperative play just one day after launch.

Installing the mod is simple:

• Download the files from Nexus Mods
• Drop them into the game folder
• Launch the included .exe file

The mod runs separately from official servers, doesn’t interfere with Easy Anti-Cheat, and uses its own save files. This means your existing character progress won’t carry over — you’ll need to start a new save, isolated from the base game.

In fact, the two-player format adds its own challenges. If one player goes down in battle, the other must revive them — and without a third player to draw enemy attention, reviving can become a risky move. This may explain why FromSoftware hasn’t officially introduced a two-player-only mode yet.
