Xbox Games er bekreftet på vei til Switch 2
Microsoft's Phil Spencer has teased an exciting future for the Nintendo Switch 2, confirming that Xbox games will soon be available on Nintendo’s next-generation console. During an appearance on the Gamertag Radio podcast, Spencer revealed that Microsoft is "really looking forward" to supporting the new platform, adding that the company is eager to work with Nintendo in bringing its titles to Switch 2. Spencer’s enthusiasm followed Nintendo's reveal of the console, which has sparked interest across the gaming community.

The planned support for Switch 2 includes titles such as Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, both of which will reportedly be coming to the system. According to reports from Windows Central’s Jez Corden, Microsoft is aiming to bring most, if not all, of its Xbox games to Switch 2, depending on the console’s performance. This would expand Xbox’s multiplatform strategy, which has seen more and more games released across rival consoles, including PlayStation and Steam.
Phil Spencer praised Nintendo’s innovation in the gaming industry, emphasizing the success of the Nintendo Switch and expressing confidence in Switch 2's potential. He also shared a personal moment, joking about how he appreciated the console’s larger screen, which would make reading text easier for him. Spencer’s comments reflect a positive outlook for Nintendo’s upcoming hardware and signal strong collaboration between the two companies.
Microsoft’s support of Switch 2 follows a similar approach to its relationship with the original Switch. Xbox games such as Minecraft, Pentiment, and Grounded have already been made available on the console. In addition to this, Microsoft’s approach to multiplatform gaming is clearly expanding. Spencer reaffirmed Microsoft’s commitment to making its games available to a wider audience, stating, "I want everybody to be able to play on Xbox and it does mean more of our games shipping on more platforms."
Spencer’s comments also align with broader industry trends. In recent years, Microsoft has made efforts to ensure that its games are available to players across different platforms. This includes titles launching day and date on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, as seen with Doom: The Dark Ages. Spencer added that the focus should always be on the quality of the games themselves and that Microsoft will continue to make its titles available wherever gamers choose to play.
While Microsoft’s plans for Switch 2 seem to be well underway, they are not alone in preparing major titles for the new console. Square Enix is reportedly planning to release Final Fantasy 7 Remake for Switch 2 in 2025, followed by Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth in 2026. Konami is working on a Switch 2 port of Metal Gear Solid Delta, and Ubisoft is preparing a range of games, including Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Rainbow Six Siege. Ubisoft has also hinted that a collection of Mario + Rabbids games could be coming to Switch 2, which would be a fitting addition given their previous collaboration with Nintendo.
The growing list of third-party developers supporting Switch 2 suggests that Nintendo’s new console will be a key player in the industry. French company Nacon has already confirmed that it is making games for the Switch 2, with a release window between April and September 2025. The company, known for publishing titles like Greedfall 2, Test Drive Unlimited, and RoboCop: Rogue City, is one of many third-party publishers who see potential in the new platform.
Nintendo has not yet announced an official release date for Switch 2, but the company is expected to hold a dedicated Direct in April to unveil more details about the console and its upcoming games. The collaboration between Microsoft and Nintendo continues to evolve, and with Spencer’s latest comments, it’s clear that the two companies are committed to expanding the reach of their games to a larger audience, providing players with even more options for where and how they can enjoy their favorite titles.
