The franchise has always taken pride in its blood-soaked combat, with Fatalities serving as the epitome of its gory nature. These finishing moves occur at the end of a fight, once the player has reduced their opponent to a battered mess. Prompted to "Finish" their foe, players unleash a spectacle of grotesque animations, humiliating their opponent with some of the most violent sequences ever witnessed in gaming. While only a few trailers have been released thus far, it's evident that Mortal Kombat 1 stays true to its blood-soaked roots, with numerous Fatalities already confirmed.

Here are the Fatalities confirmed for Mortal Kombat 1 so far:

  • Kano: Heart Pull
  • Kenshi: Blended
  • Kitana: Royal Blender
  • Jax: Big Boot
  • Sonya Blade: Kiss
  • Kung Lao Hat: Sever
  • Kung Lao: Ripper
  • Johnny Cage: Face Smash
  • Liu Kang: Twin Dragon
  • Scorpion: Pull Dive
  • Sub-Zero: Ice Choke
  • Sub-Zero: Hairline Fracture
  • Raiden: Electric Split

Based on the released trailers, Mortal Kombat 1 promises to feature some of the most brutal and campy Fatalities in franchise history. In the brutal category, we have examples like Johnny Cage's Face Smash, where the movie star obliterates his opponent's face upon impact, leaving behind bone fragments and rivers of blood. Kenshi's Blended Fatality is equally horrifying, as the blind swordsman employs his psychic powers to immobilize his enemy, forcing them to swallow his spinning sword.

However, for those seeking a more tongue-in-cheek finish, Mortal Kombat 1 has plenty to offer. Sonya Blade's Kiss Fatality exemplifies this, as she unleashes a bright pink love heart that engulfs her opponent upon contact, reducing them to ashes.

While still undeniably gory, these finishers inject a touch of silliness and fun into the mix, providing a welcome departure from the most grotesque acts imaginable. Mortal Kombat 1 introduces the Kameo Fighter system, wherein certain characters may not be fully playable but still possess at least one Fatality that can be unleashed when fighting alongside them.

For instance, players can summon Kano's Kameo Fighter to perform his chilling Heart Pull Fatality, reminiscent of the infamous scene from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Additionally, many of these Kameo Fatalities pay homage to previous games in the franchise. One such example is Jax's Big Boot Fatality, where he grows to a colossal size and mercilessly stomps his opponent into the ground.

As if that weren't enough, Mortal Kombat 1 brings back Brutalities, special combos that remove an opponent's last portion of health and trigger devastating finishing moves. Among the gameplay footage released so far, fans have caught a glimpse of Kenshi's Brutality, which slices his opponent's head clean off. Furthermore, Mortal Kombat 1 reintroduces Quitalities, a finishing move first seen in Mortal Kombat X. Quitalities occur when an opponent rage-quits from an online match, resulting in their character self-destructing or snapping their own neck in a fit of frustration.

Mortal Kombat 1 is shaping up to be a thrilling and blood-soaked experience, offering a combination of brutal, realistic Fatalities and tongue-in-cheek finishers. With its Kameo Fighter system, returning Brutalities, and the inclusion of Quitalities, the game is set to deliver an array of satisfying and shocking ways to bring opponents to their gruesome demise.

Get ready to embrace the carnage when Mortal Kombat 1 arrives, as it promises to unleash the most intense and unforgettable Fatalities the franchise has ever seen.
