The game "Darkest Dungeon 2" version 1.0, a rogue-lite turn-based game, is now available on Steam and Epic Games platforms
Red Hook Studios has announced that Darkest Dungeon 2, a turn-based roguelike game, has finally been released in version 1.0 after four years in early access. The game is now available on Steam and Epic Games, and players who have their saves in early access on the Epic Game Store can automatically transfer them to Steam if they wish to play on that platform.
The official version of the game includes five campaigns with unique bosses and mechanics, as well as 12 heroes, including the recently added Flagellant. All characters, except for the Bounty Hunter, have a five-part story with interactive chapters that represent a constantly unlocked skill.
Darkest Dungeon 2 offers four main regions to explore, including the valley, the trench, and the mountains for each campaign. Players can collect 10 different companion pets, each with their unique properties. Players can also adjust the game's difficulty with modifiers in the form of Radiant and Infernal Flame items and explore the progression hub, The Altar of Hope, to unlock cosmetic and strategic features.
"Darkest Dungeon 2 is a fresh but familiar experience that will present challenges for both new and returning players," said Red Hook Studios co-founders Chris Bourassa and Tyler Sigman. "Our team worked hard on creating and polishing the game during early access, and we are proud of our team's work. We hope you enjoy the game, and may your heroes bravely die many times in their attempts to achieve redemption."
