Revving Up the Action: New CoD Update Brings Ground Vehicles to Rebirth Island & Major Weapon Balances!
Activision has unveiled the latest update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, focusing on weapon rebalancing, bug resolutions, and the exciting addition of ground vehicles on Rebirth Island, among other enhancements. This update comes at a time when Modern Warfare 3 is experiencing a notable surge in popularity.
The boost in player numbers over the past weekend, reaching a peak not seen since the previous year on Steam, was spurred by a free trial from April 4 to April 8 and the kickoff of Season 3 on April 3, which introduced new weaponry like the MORS sniper and FJX Horus SMG. Despite this, some players reported issues with the MORS sniper's accuracy, an issue that remains unaddressed in the current update but is slated for future correction.
The latest Warzone update enriches gameplay by introducing ground vehicles to Rebirth Island. It also streamlines the Gunsmith interface by removing redundant attachments for specific weapons and corrects various gameplay bugs, including issues with equipment pickup, excessive UAV Towers in Ranked Play, and the minimap's failure to alert players to enemy Advanced UAVs.
In Modern Warfare 3, the update brings a significant buff to the SVA 545 AR, enhancing its damage range across several categories. Both games see identical adjustments in attachments and an "improved consistency" for the MORS sniper's penetration damage. Modern Warfare 3 also improves spawn logic and adds spawn points to the Shipment map, enhancing the quality of respawn locations.
Additionally, the update tweaks Modern Warfare 3's Vests, granting players wearing both the Ninja Vest and Reinforced Boots the benefits of Running Sneakers, while the Compression Carrier Vest now triggers immediate health regeneration following a launcher kill. It also introduces a delay for C4 detonation, requiring it to be stuck to a surface for half a second before activation.
Both games have seen various bug fixes, including improvements to the customization process, UI adjustments, and stabilization enhancements. Specifically, the update addresses issues with Armory Unlock Challenges, the display of weekly challenge timers, and the visibility of Conversion Kits in the Gunsmith menu.
This patch not only addresses current gameplay issues but also aims to enhance the player experience through meticulous balancing and quality-of-life improvements, underlining Activision's commitment to keeping the Call of Duty franchise at the forefront of the gaming community's preferences.
