COD Mobile-utviklere bekrefter at ingen større Zombies-oppdateringer er planlagt
Call of Duty: Mobile players hoping for major Zombies news may be disappointed after the latest developer discussion revealed that the mode is not currently a priority for large-scale updates.
During the first-ever Inside CODM developer showcase, Call of Duty: Mobile Head Jeff Gullett addressed one of the community’s most frequently asked questions regarding the future of Zombies mode.
Zombies Will Remain in COD Mobile — But Mostly Through Seasonal Events
The topic surfaced after content creator Ferg directly asked the developers about the current status of Zombies in COD Mobile.
Jeff Gullett acknowledged that the question was expected to dominate community discussions, but explained that the development team must prioritize the modes where the majority of players spend their time. According to the developers, those modes continue to be:
- Multiplayer
- Battle Royale
While Zombies is not being removed from the game, Gullett confirmed that the mode will mainly continue appearing during limited seasonal events, particularly during Halloween-themed content periods.
However, large expansions, major gameplay overhauls, or significant new content updates for the core Zombies experience are reportedly not planned at this time.
A Long History of Community Frustration
Despite having a smaller player base compared to Multiplayer and Battle Royale, the Zombies community has remained one of the most dedicated and vocal parts of COD Mobile since launch.
Every time the mode experiences long periods without updates, community discussions quickly return demanding more support and content investment from the developers.
Zombies originally launched alongside COD Mobile in 2019 before being completely removed in 2020. The mode later returned through:
- Undead Siege
- Classic Zombies
Since then, however, support has largely been limited to seasonal refreshes, missions, and smaller updates rather than major expansions.
Battle Royale Appears to Be the Main Focus
During the same developer discussion, the team also confirmed that:
- A brand-new large-scale Battle Royale map is currently in development
- The Gulag feature will be returning
These announcements further reinforced the idea that Battle Royale and Multiplayer remain the primary focus of ongoing development efforts.
Community Reaction Has Been Largely Negative
The announcement sparked frustration across large parts of the COD Mobile community, especially among longtime Zombies players.
Many players argued that the mode’s declining player numbers are a direct result of the lack of meaningful updates over the years rather than a lack of interest in Zombies itself.
Across Reddit, YouTube, and social media discussions, players criticized:
- The lack of new Zombies maps
- Limited progression systems
- Missing Easter Eggs
- Poor reward structures
- Minimal gameplay improvements since 2021
Several community members also expressed disappointment that the developer discussion spent significant time focusing on cosmetics and Mythic skins instead of deeper gameplay concerns surrounding Zombies mode.
An Uncertain Future for COD Mobile Zombies
Although Zombies will remain part of COD Mobile through seasonal events and limited-time content, the latest developer update suggests that fans should not expect major expansions anytime soon.
For many longtime players, the announcement raises continued concerns about whether the mode will ever receive the same level of support as Multiplayer and Battle Royale moving forward.
