Tencent has officially revealed the first-ever reality show based on PUBG Mobile, surprising the community with a completely new direction for the battle royale franchise. Titled PUBG Mobile: Trial of Fire, the show is set to premiere on May 30, 2026.

The announcement arrives shortly after the release of the game’s Version 4.4 update and appears to expand PUBG Mobile far beyond traditional gaming content.

PUBG Mobile Enters the Reality TV Space

The reveal was made through PUBG Mobile’s official social media channels on May 21.

While full details about the format are still limited, Tencent is expected to release additional teasers and trailers ahead of the show’s premiere later this month.

The title “Trial of Fire” seems heavily inspired by the recently added Trial of Courage feature introduced in Update 4.4. That mode brought six special Erangel trials where players could unlock access to Crown Adobe and interact with the centaur boss Helios.

16 Squads Will Compete in Real-Life Survival Challenges

According to the official announcement, the reality show will feature:

• 16 elite squads from around the world
• Real-life survival scenarios
• Challenges inspired directly by PUBG Mobile gameplay mechanics

The show was filmed in Bali, Indonesia, turning the island into a real-world battleground for the competing teams.

Unlike traditional esports tournaments, contestants will not only compete inside the game itself but will also face physical and strategic survival challenges designed to mirror battle royale gameplay.
