Pokémon Gos neste sesong: Might and Mastery fokuserer på Kubfus utvikling
The next season of Pokémon Go is officially named Might and Mastery, with a strong emphasis on the Legendary Fighting-type Pokémon, Kubfu. The announcement came through new in-game imagery, spotted by Pokéminers, revealing banner art that highlights the title and features fists, hinting at Kubfu’s evolution into its more powerful form, Urshifu.
The banner art’s design, split into black and blue, references Urshifu’s two distinct forms: Single Strike and Rapid Strike. Pokémon fans, including B0SS_Zombie on TheSilphRoad subreddit, suggest the color scheme is symbolic, with black on the left for Single Strike Urshifu, blue on the right for Rapid Strike Urshifu, and a crimson streak in the middle symbolizing Dynamax energy. This all ties into Urshifu’s strength and mastery over its fighting styles.
Kubfu's Evolution and Martial Arts Themes

Introduced in Pokémon Sword and Shield's The Isle of Armor expansion, Kubfu, and its evolution, Urshifu, were central to the plot, allowing players to choose between two distinct evolution paths. Kubfu evolves into Urshifu after viewing a special scroll, with the player deciding between the Fighting/Dark-type Single Strike Style or the Fighting/Water-type Rapid Strike Style. These forms are inspired by different Chinese martial arts styles, each with its own Gigantamax version – making Urshifu unique as the only Pokémon with multiple Gigantamax options.
Niantic might sell the game
Might and Mastery season kicks off on March 4, right after this weekend’s Unova-focused Go Tour event. Niantic has also introduced its first battle pass, available for the Go Tour. However, the long-term future of Pokémon Go remains uncertain, with reports circulating that Niantic might sell the game to Monopoly Go developer Scopely. Fans have raised concerns over Scopely’s monetization strategy following their acquisitions of other mobile games.
