Overwatch sesong 3 legger til Venture Excavation Initiative med opptil 19 Loot Boxes

Overwatch Season 3 is now underway, and Blizzard has kicked things off with a new limited-time event that gives players plenty of free rewards. The Venture Excavation Initiative lets players earn up to 17 standard Loot Boxes, plus 1 Epic Loot Box and 1 Legendary Loot Box, simply by logging in and playing throughout the season.

The event is available until August 11, 2026, giving players plenty of time to complete every challenge.

How to Earn Loot Boxes

The Venture Excavation Initiative revolves around a simple progression system called Digs.

Players can complete one Dig by:

• Logging into Overwatch
• Winning one match per day
• Repeating this for three consecutive days

Each completed Dig rewards one Loot Box, allowing dedicated players to earn up to 17 standard Loot Boxes before the event ends.

Additional milestone rewards include:

• Epic Loot Box for completing 4 Digs
• Legendary Loot Box for completing 6 Digs

I think Blizzard has found a much better balance by rewarding consistent play instead of asking players to grind dozens of matches in a short period.

More Events Are Coming in Season 3

The Venture event isn't the only source of free rewards this season.

The Anima Strike event remains available until July 6, offering players the chance to earn:

• Up to 18 Loot Boxes
• 3 Epic Loot Boxes
• 3 Legendary Loot Boxes

Players can unlock these rewards by completing challenges across the new Tokyo-themed content introduced in Season 3.

Starting June 30, Blizzard will also launch the Community Crafted Arcade event, featuring experimental hero ability changes and additional unlockable rewards.

Shion Headlines Season 3

Season 3 also introduces Shion, Overwatch's newest DPS hero.

The motorcycle-riding fighter uses dual pistols, high mobility, and aggressive flanking abilities to pressure enemy backlines. Since her reveal, Shion has received a warm reception from the community, with many players praising both her design and fast-paced gameplay.

I can see the combination of frequent events and generous reward tracks helping Season 3 maintain player interest over the next several weeks.

Between Venture Excavation Initiative, Anima Strike, Community Crafted Arcade, and the arrival of Shion, Blizzard is giving players plenty of reasons to jump back into Overwatch throughout the season.
