Capcom erter offisielt Chris Redfield i Resident Evil Veronica

Denne artikkelen er tilgjengelig på følgende språk

The next confirmed Resident Evil title from Capcom is a remake of the 2000s Code Veronica, which has had its title shortened and is now simply called Resident Evil Veronica. After a round of rumors, the project was officially confirmed at Summer Game Fest in June, but much about it remains unknown—the studio has not released any official materials since then.

As the debut trailer confirms, the main protagonist of Resident Evil: Veronica is Claire Redfield, but fans know that her brother, Chris, also plays a central role. And although Capcom has not yet confirmed his involvement in the game, a new promotional video released for the Halloween sale seems to be hinting at it. Specifically, one of the characters in the video is wearing a T-shirt with the Hound Wolf Squad logo, but what’s far more significant is that you can hear an elderly woman say the same line she uttered in the original Code Veronica trailer—that Chris Redfield won’t be able to get into the facility, as you can check out below:

THIS IS NOT A DRILL A VERONICA THING IS COMING AND IT WILL BE CHRIS REVEAL!!!

THE LADY I HEARD SHE SAID “CHRIS” AND THE GUY IS WEARING A HWS SHIRT!!!!!

Based on this, fans have concluded that Capcom may soon release a new Resident Evil Veronica trailer that will reveal Chris’s presence in the game. Even before the remake was officially announced, insider Dusk Golem reported Claire Redfield would play a more significant role in the game than her brother, but Chris would still have plenty of screen time. In the original Code Veronica, the situation is similar: Claire is the main character, setting out to search for her brother on Rockfort Island, while we control Chris in the second half of the game as he tries to find and rescue his sister.

The release date for Resident Evil Veronica is still unknown, but according to some rumors, the game has been pushed back from the first half to the second half of 2027. We also know Capcom is officially working on DLC for the ninth installment, Resident Evil Requiem—its release date and story details are also unknown.
