Vinnerne av Gamescom Awards 2026 avslørt – The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt mottok flest priser

Gamescom 2026 has officially come to a close, and, as expected, it delighted gamers with a variety of announcements, showcases, and the chance to try out playable demos of upcoming titles. Along with this, the Gamescom Awards 2026 ceremony was held, and the winner—surprisingly (or perhaps not)—was a game released in 2015.

This refers to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which has once again come into the spotlight thanks to the announcement of a remastered edition, as well as a detailed preview of the new DLC—Songs of the Past—set to be released next year. The game won the most awards (3) at the Gamescom Awards —for Best Booth, Best Merch, and Best Trailer. SEGA’s projects also took home three awards in total: Alien: Isolation 2 (Best Sound), Total War: Warhammer 40,000 (Best PC Game), and Best Cast. It’s no surprise that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has won the most awards. CD Projekt RED has once again managed to attract a lot of attention with the announcement of the Remastered Edition, which will be released next month and will include numerous improvements to the game—both in terms of graphics and enhancements to the combat system and enemy behavior. Not to mention Songs of the Past—a new expansion that, as we know, will take players to a new region: Letten, Dandelion’s homeland. As for The Witcher 4, the game was not featured at Gamescom, but CD Projekt RED had previously confirmed that the game is scheduled for release in 2028.

Meanwhile, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered Edition will release on September 29 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2 and will be free for those who own the original game. Songs of the Past is confirmed to release in 2027 for the same platforms.
