The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake slippes kanskje bare en uke før GTA 6
The announcement of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake during June's Nintendo Direct definitely delighted franchise fans. After all, the series' recent entries have been outstanding—especially Breath of the Wild that has won more than 250 GOTY awards —and fans can't wait to see what this reimagining of the original 1998 game will look like.
Nintendo hasn't announced an official release date for the remake yet, but as spotted by Reddit users, the game might launch on November 11—almost a week before GTA 6, the most anticipated video game of 2026, comes out. Notably, Nintendo UK has also announced new amiibo figures—Sword Kirby and Dragoon and Noir Dedede and Hydra—that typically launch alongside the game they're tied to. While Ocarina of Time still doesn't have a confirmed date, that could indirectly point to the remake arriving the same month as Grand Theft Auto VI.
Ocarina of Time Remake possibly releasing November 11 based on Amiibo
Nintendo UK has listed Sword Kirby and Dragoon and Noir Dedede and Hydra amiibo for release on November 11th.
Amiibo generally release on the same day as a Nintendo published game and Nintendo has no currently announced games for November. Releasing on a Wednesday instead of Thursday like Nintendo has been doing since Q2 2024 would be slightly unusual.
For context the Mineru’s Construct Amiibo had it’s date announced before Fortunes’s Weave, Meta Knight and Shadow Star had it’s date announced before Pokopia, and Dedede and Tank Star had it’s date announced before Rhythm Heaven Groove.

The fact that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time might come out just a week before GTA 6 probably is not a big deal for Nintendo. After all, the game will be a Switch 2 exclusive, and the franchise has a devoted fan base of its own. It seems unlikely players will be so focused on GTA 6's release that they overlook the new Zelda entry entirely.
There is another noteworthy fact regarding The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time—the game recently received an official ESRB rating of E10+, which confirms that it contains “animated blood, fantasy violence.” This could be another sign that Nintendo will soon share new details about the remake and, likely, confirm an official release date.
