Insider Delte Plottdetaljer om Star Wars Eclipse – tittelen på Long-Suffering Quantic Dream
In 2021, Quantic Dream, the developers of hits such as Fahrenheit, Heavy Rain, and Detroit: Become Human, announced Star Wars Eclipse—a new game in a similar genre to the aforementioned projects. Unfortunately, the game's release date remains unknown, and recent reports revealed that the development of Star Wars Eclipse is going, to put it mildly, unevenly.
It was recently revealed that Star Wars Eclipse has been in development for about 8 years, and the release was originally planned much earlier. Nevertheless, Quantic Dream also devoted time to their online project Spellcasters Chronicles, on which they had placed great hopes. Unfortunately, it never became successful, and its servers will be shut down this month. This could negatively affect the development of Star Wars Eclipse, since it was assumed that the revenue generated from Spellcasters Chronicles would help the game's development—and now its fate remains unknown, which worries fans.
A new report from leaker FivesWalker also confirms that the game's development is ongoing, but not everything is going according to plan. In addition, he revealed some details of the game's plot and confirmed that Star Wars Eclipse is still a large-scale project, as Quantic Dream had planned. You can find details of the plot, including information about the main characters, below.
Leaker FivesWalker states that Star Wars Eclipse is far along in development, also shares plot details.
Here are Copy Pastas of his Tweets:
“Star Wars Eclipse is very far along, but still has a ways to go. The rumors are true about issues between Quantic Dream and Lucasfilm, but the game will absolutely still come out. It still has a very large scope.”
“Multiple lead characters you play as with different points of view in a larger grand-scale story.”
“One of the leads is a traditional young Jedi. Idealistic, good-hearted, whose limits are tested as he enters into morally questionable and dangerous situations among an unexplored region/nation of the galaxy.”
“Another lead is a non-Force-sensitive girl, working much like Rey, nearly as an indentured servant on a barren junk planet. She's poor and starved, but not alone like Rey was.”
“A kind old man, her surrogate grandfather, has taken care of her since she was very little. But now he's sick, and his illness might just radicalize her into starting a revolution, even if it means going up against Force-sensitives.”
Despite the development problems, hopefully Quantic Dream will manage to make a quality product in the Star Wars universe, especially since the game is expected to be made according to the same concept as the latest title released by the studio so far - Detroit: Become Human—where the focus was on the story, emotional component, and depth of the characters. Star Wars Eclipse isn't the only game in the franchise currently in development:
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake—developed by Mad Head Games for PC and PlayStation 5—still has no release date. The new look at the game is rumored to be revealed somewhere this year.
- Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic—developed by Casey Hudson (director of the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic) and Arcanaut Studios. Announced at last year’s The Game Awards and doesn’t have a release date yet.
- Star Wars: Galactic Racer—a new racing title from Fuse Games, former developers behind the Burnout and Need for Speed game series. Set to release on October 6, 2026, for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
- Star Wars: Jedi 3—Rumored to be in development at Electronic Arts/Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm recently teased the return of the game series main character, Cal Kestis.
Star Wars Eclipse is in development for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. The release date is currently unknown.
