This year, Ubisoft cancelled the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which was announced back in 2020, which left the fans disappointed. The situation inside the studio remains complicated, but there is also hope that the franchise will receive a new project in the foreseeable future.

At least, that's what Elias Edraki hints at - an actor who participated in the voice acting of the Sands of Time remake. In a now-deleted post on Instagram, as spotted by PoP Universe on X, he published an encouraging post saying that, despite the game's cancellation, Ubisoft may be working on other projects in the universe.

It’s possible that another Prince of Persia project is currently in development!

A voice actor who voiced a few characters in the Sands of Time Remake said: “Sorry to hear that it got cancelled. But don’t worry, we’ve got something else cooking in the oven.”

In the comments on the post, fans put forward their desired options: they include a remaster of the classic Prince of Persia trilogy or the announcement of a completely new project.

Ubisoft hasn’t revealed their plans about the development of the Prince of Persia franchise. The studio’s upcoming releases are Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced (June 9) and Rayman Legends Retold—the remake of 2013’s Rayman Legends, which is expected to be announced at State of Play on June 2.
