Embracer bekreftet at Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis slippes i år

Back in December at The Game Awards 2025, Crystal Dynamics announced two new projects related to legendary Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, the remake of the original Tomb Raider, released in 1996, and Tomb Raider: Catalyst—the next mainline game series title, which is also the sequel to 2008’s Tomb Raider: Underworld.

The release dates for both games are still not revealed, though for now, Legacy of Atlantis is set to launch this year and Catalyst—next year. We also heard rumors that Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis could be postponed to 2027, but a recent financial report from Embracer, the parent company of Crystal Dynamics, confirms the game is still on track to be released this year —specifically in the second half of the year.

It is likely that Legacy of Atlantis might be released somewhere in autumn, as previous titles were released on September 14, 2018 (Shadow of the Tomb Raider) and on November 10, 2015 (Rise of the Tomb Raider). As for Tomb Raider: Catalyst, the release date is seemingly happening somewhere in 2027.

Speaking of Embracer Group, the company recently announced the restructuring process, during which it was decided to split the company into two holdings. Fellowship Entertainment will be responsible for major projects and will own 4A Games (Metro), Crystal Dynamics (Tomb Raider), Warhorse Studios (Kingdom Come), and more, while Embrace will take on the duties of introducing the mobile market, remasters, and AA games.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is the remake of the original Tomb Raider video game, released in 1996. The game is also rumored to have more advanced action scenes, as it’s confirmed to be co-developing with Flying Wild Hog—the developers of Shadow Warrior and Evil West—and is also set to unite all the timelines featuring Lara Croft. Besides two new video games, there is also a Tomb Raider TV series in development by Amazon starring Sophie Turner as Lara Croft.
