Warhorse Studios jobber med to nye spill – nytt Kingdom Come-spill og The Lord of the Rings RPG

We knew that Warhorse Studios, the developers of Kingdom Come: Deliverance game series, are working on a new title, which was confirmed earlier this month by the studio itself during the Q&A session on Reddit. The studio finally lifted the veil on its plans, confirming earlier rumors about another project—and fans can't wait to learn the details.

On their latest X social media post, Warhorse Studios announced that they are working on the new adventure set in Kingdom Come universe. But what is more exciting is that the studio is also working on a new game set in Lord of the Rings universe, as was rumored in March. The details of the game remain unknown for now; it claims to be an "open-world Middle-earth RPG", which already sounds exciting.

Last year’s Kingdom Come: Deliverance II proved Warhorse Studios as RPG specialists, as it became one of the best games of 2026 and one of the best RPG titles over the last few years. It will be curious to see whether the third installment will take another step forward, just like the second game did.

And of course, a game based on The Lord of the Rings generates a special intrigue, both in terms of a possible storyline and especially in how the studio is working on RPG elements, the elaboration of the open world, the atmosphere, and the gameplay. At the moment, the projects are probably still at a very early stage of development, so details remain unknown, as do release dates and platforms.
